Bettersee Breakfast is a brand that brings focuses on creative living. The artist duo first met at the Royal College of Art in 2017 and is now living between London, Qingdao and Jingdezhen. After spending almost five years working in the field of art and design, they started working together to explore artistic, creative combinations of visual storytelling and practicality. They experiment with various materials and crafts to design original, hand-formed products ranging from daily-use ceramics items to prints and drawings. It is their goal to highlight those small, joyful and poetic moments of our everyday lives with their artwork.
Our Story
After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2018, Jun and Bonnie travelled to Japan, Hong Kong, and spent a good year in Qingdao, China, by the beautiful East Sea. After the pandemic hit, they visited Jingdezhen in Jiangxi, and fell in love with this very interesting city, also known as the centre of porcelain and ceramics. They spent more than a year making pottery and establishing the brand, Bettersee Breakfast, which focuses on designing creative tableware and ceramic product for home. At the same time, they continue to make art and take part in artist's residencies across China. The duo now lives in Jingdezhen, where the brand is based, and travelled frequently for DIY markets in different cities. They aim to bring the brand to other parts of the world and share their work to audience across the globe.
